Industrial controls run in Eloy's family. His father is a controls technician, his brother works in the same field, and Eloy spent most of his own career on commercial and industrial sites before opening Hardy Electric. He can pull up a set of technical drawings, follow a control system through, and get a stopped machine running again. That background is what got a Chula Vista restaurant's Ansul hood system working from the prints two days before final inspection, a job most residential electricians would have handed off. He works with plant managers, project managers and engineers from the drawings or from the problem in front of him.
01The Work
Equipment and controls scope
Control panels and motor controls. New panels built to the schematic, or existing panels modified when a machine changes: starters, contactors, overloads, relays, terminal blocks, disconnects, pilot devices and E-stops. Wiring dressed and labeled to the drawing so the next person in the cabinet can follow it. Three-phase motor circuits sized and protected correctly from the panel out to the motor.
Drives, PLC wiring and troubleshooting. VFDs installed and wired for the motor and the application, PLC I/O and field device wiring, HMI mounting. Eloy wires to the engineer's design and flags anything in the field that does not match the print before it becomes a problem. When something is down, he reads the drawings, traces the system and finds the fault, and he has a thermal camera on the truck for connections and gear running hot.
Kitchen hood and fire-suppression controls. A commercial kitchen exhaust hood with an Ansul fire-suppression system is a controls problem as much as an electrical one, and few electricians will service one. Eloy has installed them in new construction and, this year, got one in a Chula Vista restaurant working again from the technical drawings, with parts shipped overnight and a night shift before the final. If your hood system is down, call.

02On the list
Included, not upsold.
- 01Control panel build and modification
- 02Motor controls, starters and overloads
- 03VFD installation and setup
- 04PLC I/O, sensor and field device wiring
- 05Ansul hood and fire-suppression system wiring and service
- 06Machine and equipment power drops
- 07Downtime troubleshooting from the drawings
- 08Thermal imaging on switchgear and distribution
03How Long
Troubleshooting calls are scheduled as fast as the shift allows, nights and weekends included. Panel builds, VFD installs and equipment power are scoped from the drawings with a schedule that fits your production calendar.
04What It Costs
Planned work is quoted from the drawings or a site walk before it begins, with permits built into the price. Troubleshooting is billed for the time it takes to find the fault, with the repair quoted once the cause is known. Estimates are free.
Quoted before the work starts. The number agreed is the number paid.
